A Large French Louis-Philippe Period Giltwood and Gesso Overmantel Mirror bench A refined design following BarovierA Large French Louis Philippe Period Giltwood and Gesso Overmantel Mirror Of characteristic Louis Philippe form, the substantial rectangular mirror plate with rounded upper corners set within a giltwood and gesso frame of elegant restrained profile. The broad flat surround enriched along its inner edge with a finely cast continuous rope twist or bead and reel moulding, a hallmark of the period's refined decorative vocabulary. The outer border further
